World Health Organization: Ahmedabad's Corona model can be adopted by other cities

The World Health Organization (WHO) is conducting an exercise to identify the best method adopted for covid management in the world. In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Gupta and Muni. Commissioner Mukesh Kumar called on WHO`s Chief Scientist Dr. Saumya made a presentation to Swaminathan by video conference.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is conducting an exercise to identify the best method adopted for covid management in the world. In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Gupta and Muni. Commissioner Mukesh Kumar called on WHO`s Chief Scientist Dr. Saumya made a presentation to Swaminathan by video conference.

Dr. Swaminathan said that other cities could follow the model adopted by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation by taking steps like Dhanvantari Rath, 104 Seva, Korona Ghar Seva, Sanjeev`s Van and partnership of private hospitals. It was introduced in the presentation that the corporation had adopted a 9-pronged strategy to reduce the case and death rate of Corona and bring the recovery rate to 81 per cent. Following the appointment of Additional Chief Secretaries Rajiv Gupta and Mukesh Kumar in May, he has taken up the case with a phased 9-pronged strategy.

The first case of corona was reported on March 17 in the city, with active cases falling from 53 to 13 per cent in two months . In 19 weeks, the percentage of active cases dropped from 100 to 13 percent. The number of cases decreased due to different strategies. When the recovery rate increased. The active case in July is only 13 per cent while the recovery rate has reached 81 per cent. In the 10th week, the active case was 40 per cent while the recovery rate was 53 per cent. Official sources say. The highest number of cases in all zones was reported in May.
