Ahmedabad: MBA and MCA admissions will begin on Tuesday and PINs for those applying online will be distributed. PINs will be available in designated banks till July 3. Candidates will be able to submit their applications online from Wednesday; the deadline is July 4.The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) has set up 53 help centres across the state and it is mandatory for every student to get the documents — such as marksheets and identity cards — verified at these centres. In a separate advisory, the ACPC has said that original marksheets are not to be submitted at the helpline centres. Last year, more than 10,000 MBA and MCA seats remained vacant across the state; 4,000 of those were MBA seats. In fact, this year, 10 colleges have been shut, including four offering MBA courses and six offering MCA courses.This year, candidates will vie for 9,810 seats in MBA courses , and 5,470 seats in MCA courses . There are 7,100 seats for later entry (direct admission in the second year) into MCA courses as well. The merit list will be prepared based on CMAT and the merit for students who have not opted for CMAT will be prepared on the basis of graduation scores. For non-CMAT students, the minimum cut-off is 50% in graduation for general category students, and 45% for reserved category students.
