JAIPUR: The Jaipur zonal unit of Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence ( DIGGI ) unearthed an estimated evasion of GST/ Central Excise duty amounting to Rs 2 crore following searches at different premises of a company Luxture Surface Coatings Pvt. Ltd., Ajmer which deals with manufacture and supply of paint and textures.Searches were conducted at nine premises, including five units and godown premises at Ajmer, two depots at Jaipur and New Delhi, a residential premise of the directors at Ajmer and a residential premise of their accountant at Danta village of Ajmer.Incriminating documents, including loose papers and devices have been recovered during the searches. Shortage in finished goods was also noticed during physical verification of the stock of goods lying in the factory premises. Further, goods valued at Rs 24.74 lakh were also seized during the search, which was found in excess than the recorded balance shown in their books of accounts. The company have deposited tax amounting to Rs 40 lakh till date in anticipation of their tax liability. The investigation in the case is under process.
