JAIPUR: Two persons including a woman beneficiary from Dungarpur who had come to attend PM Narendra Modi’s rally on July 7 in Jaipur went missing and did not reach their native places. On Tuesday, Ajmer police said the dead body of a 70-year-old woman they had found on the by-pass on July 7 is actually the beneficiary who had gone to attend the prime minister’s rally. They identified the body with the help of her family members. The other person who had come to Jaipur along with his beneficiary wife Sugna Devi of Mandalgarh in Bhilwara also went missing after the PM’s rally.According to police, the Ajmer’s civil lines police station at 11 pm on July 7 got an information about the mutilated body of a woman found on the by-pass almost 10 km away from the city. A team of policemen rushed to the spot and took the body in possession and sent it to the mortuary of Jawahar Lal Nehru (JLN) government hospital.“In order to identify her, we used social networking sites and sent her picture with smashed face to various police station areas. Meanwhile, on Tuesday one Laxman Singh, a native of Dhamola village in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan came along the village Sarpanch and identified the body as his mother. Laxman Singh said she was Nandi Bai, a beneficiary of Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna who got nearly Rs 1.5 lakh and was selected to participate in the PM’s rally in Jaipur,” said Rajendra Singh, Superintendent of police, Ajmer while talking to TOI on Tuesday.Singh added that the body was badly damaged. Asked if there was any possibility of murder, he said, “Murder possibility has clearly been ruled out. The woman sustained injuries on her face and other body parts. The badly was badly mutilated and clearly indicated that she met with an accident.”The family members also told the police that woman though boarded the bus back home from Jaipur. “The bus was halted almost 10 km away from Ajmer. It was a private bus on which ‘Tiger’ was mentioned. Since there were many other similar buses the woman might have missed to identify her bus and was left behind,” said Shanti Lal, incharge station house officer of civil lines police station under whose jurisdiction.Meanwhile, one village development officer Sachin who accompanied the bus has been suspended. “Only thing which is again doubtful is that when the woman was left behind at the halting place, why the relatives including her son did not inform the officers in the bus. They only realized that their mother was missing only after the bus reached their village next morning on July 7,” said Rajendra Bhatt, district collector, Dungarpur. One Panchayat Prasar Adhikaari Sukhdev Aahari was first to point out the woman was missing. “While bus started after the halt near Beawar, nobody pointed out her absence. The officer only pointed out that the woman was missing after reaching the village and then informed the authorities,” he added.Similarly, a 45-year-old man Rodulal, a native of Mandalgarh of Kachola police station area in Bhilwara who came to Jaipur along with his wife Sugna Devi, a beneficiary of Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna went missing since July 7 from Jaipur.“His wife realized that he did not reach the bus. She lodged a missing report at the Jyoti Nagar police station on July 7 itself,” said Pradeep Mohan Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Bhilwara. He is yet to be located.Family members claimed that the man was not carrying any cash or mobile phone. Back home, his son and daughter-in-law were in tears and people including local political leaders were visiting them.
