AJMER: Member of Parliament Raghu Sharma, commenting on the issue of the Bisalpur dam crisis, said on Saturday that the scarcity of drinking water has come up because of the lack of a vision in the present BJP state government. “Area wise, Rajasthan is ten percent of the nation, but has only one percent of its water resources. For Jaipur, the best source of water was Ramgarh, but that resource has now dried up because of encroachment. Dark zone is increasing and there will come a time when people will face problems of lack of quality water.”He said that the Bisalpur dam is the vision of the Congress government of that time. “The state government should come up with a plan to harness rain water at traditional sources, but in that name, they started Jal Sawalamban, that failed completely,” he added.Sharma said that the people of Rajasthan are already facing the problem of a hike in petrol rates and they will now have to face a water crisis. On the question that the BJP has accused that he is using his MP fund mainly in Kekeri state assembly constituency and not throughout the district, he said that the BJP should first explain what they had done with their MLA fund.
