ABVP edges past NSUI in Rajasthan student union polls

The NSUI candidates fell by the wayside mainly due to dissidents who fared better than many of the party candidates. In Pushkar government College Mukesh Rawat of ABVP won the elections while Akshat of NSUI won the election of general secretary. Lokesh Godara won president election in MDS University and Shivnesh Jadon became the vice president, Rahul Rajpurohit general secretary and Niharika won the post of joint secretary. Similarly, Mansi Saini won vice president as independent. All four candidates are from ABVP.Interestingly Farhan Khan, a NSUI dissident and an independent won the president election in Prithviraj Chauhan Government College.

JAIPUR/AJMER/UDAIPUR/KOTA: After a six-year long gap ABVP returned at the helm at Maharishi Dayanand Sarswati (MDS) University where all four posts were won by them. The NSUI candidates fell by the wayside mainly due to dissidents who fared better than many of the party candidates. In DAV College all four posts were won by independents. Lokesh Godara won president election in MDS University and Shivnesh Jadon became the vice president, Rahul Rajpurohit general secretary and Niharika won the post of joint secretary. All four candidates are from ABVP.Interestingly Farhan Khan, a NSUI dissident and an independent won the president election in Prithviraj Chauhan Government College. Similarly, Mansi Saini won vice president as independent. In Government Girls’ College ABVP dissident and Independent Swati Arya won as president while Anmita Manwar won as vice president on a ABVP ticket and Pooja Jangid once again a dissident of ABVP won the seat of the general secretary.In DAV all four candidates Surender Mahariya as president, Abhishek Rawat as vice president, Mohamad Khalid as general secretary and Vaibhav Meena as joint secretary are independent and dissident of NSUI. In Kishangarh government College Shubham, an independent candidate won as president while in the Shramjeevi College Om Parkash won the election as independent. In Pushkar government College Mukesh Rawat of ABVP won the elections while Akshat of NSUI won the election of general secretary. In Government Law college Rachit Kachawa of ABVP won the election without any contest and Sanjay Morsoya of ABVP won as vice president.In Udaipur, ABVP scored a double win at the Mohanlal Sukhadia university with Himanshu Bagdi and Padam Singh Deora winning the posts of the president and general secretary respectively. Independent candidates Arvind Singh Chundawat and Sunil Pahadiya won the vice President and joint secretary posts respectively. At the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) NSUI supported Vikas Godara was elected as the President, while ABVP candidate Vishal Gupta took over as the new general secretary as NSUI's Sushil Meena was elected as joint secretary cum treasurer.At government Meera Girls college, ABVP candidate Payal Kalasua, Anju Rao were elected as President and Vice President in the college cabinet. Here supporters entered into a fight following the results and police had to intervene to separate the warring groups. The winners were taken away to a far place in the police jeep however, they returned to the college and there was much ruckus outside the campus with girls exchanging heated conversation. At Pratapgarh government college the ABVP panel made a clean sweep while in Dhariyawad government college al the coveted posts were won by the NSUI candidates.In Banswara, the ST-SC-NSUI alliance won most of the seats in the various colleges of the district. The alliance met victory at Guru Govind Singh Govt college, Mama Baleshwardayal govt college at Kushalgarh, Haridev Joshi govt girls college and Eklingnath Sanskrit college at Ganoda. Of the 16 seats in these colleges, the SCST-NSUI alliance secured 15 of the 16 posts while one candidate of the ABVP won as general secretary at Kushalgarh. In Kota, Chandrashekhar Nagar along with his independent panel was on Tuesday declared elected president of students’ union of University of Kota. Independent candidates have won at three other colleges in Kota, however ABVP candidates have managed to win over five of the total nine seats.In Jhalawar , the home constituency of CM Vasundhra Raje, NSUI bagged four seats out of a total seven seats leaving ABVP candidates at three places. In Baran, four independent candidates in colleges at Mangrole, Anta and Chabda, have won their respective seats for the college union presidents while ABVP and NSUI have respectively stuck at two and one seats in Baran, Kelwada and Baran girls’ college. In Bundi, ABVP candidate Bhagwan Gujar along with his panel of three has been declared elected president of Bundi government PG college. The ABVP panel also lodged victory in Girls’ college at Bundi where Shakshi Chuchan emerged as winning on students’ union president with her panel of three.Jaisalmer too has fallen for ABVP which won 3 seats in Sangidas Balkishan Kothari College while one seat has gone to independent. Mahendra Singh Karda of ABVP has been elected as the president while the Gajendra Singh become the secretary. In the women’s college, all four seats have gone uncontested to ABVP. Yasha Purohit became the president of Women’s college and santosh suthar become Secretary. In the Pokharan college, independent candidate Pankaj Soni has won for president seat where as two seats has gone to ABVP and one seat was gone to NSUI. Dinesh Kumar from ABVP has become Secretary of Pokharan’s college.
