The big question on everybody’s mind in Ajmer district is whether Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Sachin Pilot will contest the assembly elections scheduled on December 7.The district has been Pilot’s Lok Sabha constituency since 2008. He could be on the minds of Congress’ election planners this time. Congress planners intend to keep the seniors free for overall poll management in the state, so that the party can win maximum seats here. The committee is believed to have agreed to repeat the sitting 25 MLAs, considering they won the last elections despite the Modi wave and subsequent adverse circumstances.“If Gehlot, being a sitting MLA, is fielded in these elections, Pilot and other seniors too will contest. One of its eight assembly segments could now turn his seat, should the Congress decide to field him in the state elections.Like residents, the party think tank too is struggling to find an answer to the big question.
