Rajasthan assembly elections 2018 Election Commission notice to Vasudev Devnani for violating code of conduct

JAIPUR: An Election Commission (EC) notice has been served to primary and secondary education minister Vasudev Devnani for distributing handbags to people with his pictures on it, in violation of model code of conduct. The notice was served by Ajmer North returning officer Ashok Kumar Yogi on Tuesday evening.“We received a complaint that he (Devnani) was distributing handbags with his photos on it. Devnani is a BJP candidate from Ajmer North seat. We have given him time till Wednesday evening to reply. This is a clear case of corrupt practice.

A candidate cannot distribute any article to the voters/supporters when the MCC is in force,” said the returning officer.Earlier, a notice was served to Devnani for printing achievements of the BJP government and his party on the Diwali greeting cards in violation of model code of conduct.Rajasthan will go to polls on December 7. Devnani is a BJP candidate from Ajmer North seat.
