Rajasthan elections 2018: Masuda sees highest, Ajmer north lowest turnout in 1st hourr

AJMER: The Masuda constituency of Ajmer saw the highest voter turnout of 7.7 percent in the first hour , while Ajmer north constituency saw the lowest turnout in the first hour of polling on Friday. But in Masuda, the highest number of voters came out to vote, with 7.7 percent in the first hour of the polling. Generally, the businessmen and shopkeepers turn up first on the polling stations, as they then carry on with their business through the day.However, In Ajmer north, the polling trend in the first hour shows that shopkeepers did not turn up to vote in the first hour and therefore Ajmer north is the constituency where voting remained the lowest with 63.77 percent only. Masuda is the constituency where a higher turnout was registered in the last two hours as well, in comparison to other seven constituencies of the district.The election office released the statistics of polling pattern on the day of voting in Ajmer, which says that between six to seven percent of voters cast their votes in the first hour of the polling. But in Beawar , where polling remained second lowest, the first hour of polling was good with 6.72 percent of votes cast.The important time that tests the prospects of candidates of different parties is the last two hours, when they make all their efforts to bring voters to polling station.The trend of voting statistics given by election office shows that Nasirabad is the constituency where the highest voting with about 17 percent was done in last two hours, while Ajmer north is the constituency where lowest efforts were made by the candidates to bring voters to polling station, with only 13 percent of polling in last two hours, between 3pm to 5pm.But in Kishangarh , Kekri and also in Pushkar, efforts were made to bring voters to the poll booths in the last two hours of polling, whereas in Ajmer south and Masuda, only 14 percent of voters turned up to polling stations to cast their votes in the last two hours.Sources said that in the last two hours, candidates had to work hard to bring the voters to polling stations.
