In 35 days this year, swine flu cases surpass that of 2018

Though Jodhpur reported highest number of swine flu deaths in ongoing swine flu outbreak, Jaipur remained the epicentre of the outbreak. According to health department report, 2,419 persons were diagnosed with swine flu in 2018. Without taking much risk, the health department officials immediately provided them treatment for swine flu. But, in just 35 days of 2019, the persons tested positive for the disease have increased to 2,455.However, on the bright side, the mortality rate, which is just 3.5% in 2019 is lesser than the mortality rate of 2018. The health department officials said that they found 36 pregnant women and 101 high risk group patients suffering from common cold.

JAIPUR: With 92 more diagnosed with swine flu on Monday, the total number of cases in 2019 so far has surpassed the total number of persons tested positive for the disease in 2018. According to health department report, 2,419 persons were diagnosed with swine flu in 2018. But, in just 35 days of 2019, the persons tested positive for the disease have increased to 2,455.However, on the bright side, the mortality rate, which is just 3.5% in 2019 is lesser than the mortality rate of 2018. Last year, the mortality rate was over 9%. Though Jodhpur reported highest number of swine flu deaths in ongoing swine flu outbreak, Jaipur remained the epicentre of the outbreak. The health department report shows that 984 persons were diagnosed with the disease and only four persons died of it.Taking preventive measures, the health department launched a fresh screening campaign of people for swine flu in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner and Ajmer from Monday, which will continue till February 9. A five-day screening campaign was launched on January 21, in which more than one crore people were screened for swine flu.On Monday, 4,160 health teams, conducted door-to-door survey of 1.8 lakh houses. They conducted screening of seven lakh persons for swine flu. The health department officials said that they found 36 pregnant women and 101 high risk group patients suffering from common cold. Without taking much risk, the health department officials immediately provided them treatment for swine flu.
