Three more die of swine flu in Rajasthan, toll reaches 91

JAIPUR: Three more deaths due to swine flu reported from Kota, Barmer and Ajmer on Wednesday taking toll to 91 this year so far.According to health department report, 84 persons were tested positive for the disease. During the campaign, 25lakh persons were screened for the disease.During the screening, health department found 202 pregnant women and 296 persons belong to high risk category. Pregnant women and high risk group people are more susceptible to death.Health minister Raghu Sharma said that the screening was done from February 4 which will continue till February 9. In addition to that, they had high grade fever and severe sore throat.

So far, 2,606 persons have already been diagnosed with the disease in 2019.In Jaipur, 37 persons were found infected with the disease.In three days, the health department has found 1,464 persons, who were identified as suspected swine flu cases during a screening campaign launched on Monday.The health department teams conducted door-to-door screening covering over six lakh houses. During the campaign, 25lakh persons were screened for the disease.During the screening, health department found 202 pregnant women and 296 persons belong to high risk category. Pregnant women and high risk group people are more susceptible to death.Health minister Raghu Sharma said that the screening was done from February 4 which will continue till February 9. The districts which are badly affected due to swine flu including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner and Ajmer were covered in the campaign.During the campaign, more than 75,000 people were found suffering from illness related to common cold There are 966 persons, who were found suffering from mild fever, cough or sore throat with or without body ache, headache, diarrhoea and vomiting. In addition to that, they had high grade fever and severe sore throat. The health department teams provided them Oseltamivir (Tamiflu) tablets and suggested them to remain in isolation for some days.
