SP (city) Siddarth said, “The delegation was stopped at Teliyarganj in view of implementation of the mode code of conduct.”He also said that police officials told members that they had no prior permission to visit the spot and their visit could also disturb the law and order situation.BJP spokesperson Pawan Srivastava, said the delegation had also visited the deceased students Dilip Saroj’s native village Bhulsa in Pratapgarh district before coming to Allahabad.After being denied the permission to go ahead, the committee members moved towards Circuit House from Teliyarganj and met a delegation of students and doctors of the private hospital, which had treated the law student.The fact-finding committee members also reprimanded the party workers at Circuit House who had made elaborative plans to welcome the leaders in the city.BJP leader Laxman Acharya said “It was a sad moment and there was no question of being welcomed on arrival as we are here to probe the incident and submit a report on the basis of our findings.”Acharya later met a delegation of students from Anusuchit Jati and Anusuchit Janjati Utpidan Niwaran Morcha, who handed over a memorandum of their demands.Acharya said “The state government has already handed over a cheque of Rs 24 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of the murdered student and also directed the district magistrate concerned to offer an arm license to the family.
