ALLAHABAD: A head constable was allegedly shot dead by a sub-inspector rank police official at the premises of Vijaipur police outpost in the limits of Kishanganj police station of UP's Fatehpur district on Saturday night. The victim has been identified as Durgesh Kumar Tiwari , a resident of Allahabad.IG, Allahabad range, Ramit Sharma told TOI, “The police have arrested the accused, identified as Laxmikant Senger." “Both head constable and sub-inspector - who was the in-charge of Vijaipur police outpost also - were at loggerheads over the arrest of a person," he added.The duo had first exchanged a verbal duel and the scene took an ugly turn when the SI allegedly shot at the head constable with his service pistol inside the police outpost premises and escaped, added IG.Policemen on duty then informed the station officer, Kishanpur, and other senior police officials and further brought the injured head constable to the nearby hospital where doctors referred him to Fatehpur district hospital.
