Our alliance with BJP will continue till 2024: Rajbhar

ALLAHABAD: UP cabinet minister and SBSP national president Om Prakash Rajbhar , who has been quite vocal in his criticism of UP government, on Thursday said his party will continue its alliance with the ruling BJP in the state till 2024.“I don’t have any issue with anyone. Everyone knows about the fate of former chief minister Mayawati when she installed her statues.”On the challenge posed by a unified opposition, Rajbhar said: “We are working on an effective strategy to take on the opposition in the 2019 parliamentary polls BJP fought assembly election by projecting Keshav Prasad Maurya .

I also raise the voice of the poor and downtrodden in and outside the ‘sadan’ (Assembly) when there is no one to hear them,” Rajbhar told reporters at Prayag Sangeet Samiti Praising chief minister Yogi Adityanath , he said, “Yogi is a very honest and hard-working person, but some officials are defaming the state government by their misdeeds.” The situation in the field of education, sanitation and health has improved a lot since the government took over, he added.Rajbhar said caste politics is a ground reality in UP and could not be wished away. “People from every caste and community have a right to become chief minister. As a result, people of his community voted for the BJP and the party appointed him deputy chief minister to balance caste equations,” he said.“Had we formed the government, we would have appointed chief ministers for six months so that everyone got a chance,” he said.On reported BJP plans to install statues of prime minister and chief minister at party offices, Rajbhar said, “It is an internal matter of BJP and I have nothing to do with it. However, installing statues will not generate jobs and development.
