"The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has agreed to ply the cruise vessel during the Kumbh Mela. The cruises would start from Sujawan ghat and conclude at Quila Ghat. As there would be adequate water in both the rivers, it would be easy for authorities to manoeuvre the cruise ships," he added.The ships would be able to accommodate 150-200 persons each. ALLAHABAD: When you visit Kumbh Mela next year, add an exclusive cruise tour of the scenic banks of Ganga and Yamuna to your itineraries.The Mela administration will ply two cruise ships, which would cover a 20km distance, between Sujawan ghat near Ghurpur and Quila ghat near Sangam, to boost religious tourism during the religious fair.The scheme was launched under the water transportation scheme.DIGSSP (Kumbh) KP Singh said, "This would be first time when a cruise vessel would be plied on Ganga and Yamuna to promote tourism during Kumbh Mela. "Singh also said that the cruise tours would not be available on shahi snan days like Makar Sankranti Mauni Amavasya and Basant Panchmi due to heavy flow of pilgrims.
