ALLAHABAD: A dalit government lady veterinarian in UP’s Kaushambi district has alleged that three gram pradhans and three others, including a village development officer, block development committee member and a ‘kotedar’ (fair price shop owner), refused to provide her drinking water at a village where she had gone for inspection.Police have lodged an FIR on her complaint and ordered a probe into the matter on the directives of the district magistrate.Police said the FIR has been filed under section 504 of IPC and Section 3 (1)(R)(S) of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes ( Prevention of Atrocities ) Act with Manjhanpur police station of Kaushambi.Dr Seema, who is posted as deputy chief veterinary officer at Manjhanpur, had on Tuesday was on an inspection tour of three villages, including Ambawa Poorab, where the accused persons allegedly not only refused to cooperate with her in discharge of official duty, but also denied to provide her drinking water, police added.“The complainant, Dr Seema, has claimed that she had gone to review development work in the villages on the directives of district panchayati raj officer (DPRO).
