ALLAHABAD: As Kanwariyas throng Allahabad in their all-saffron attire, t-shirts bearing faces of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have become sought after among them.On sale in most markets in the city, these T-shirts with smiling faces of the CM and PM are adorned with captions that show the popularity of the two leaders.The t-shirts are being sold between Rs 250 to 300 (based on the three options available). This new arrival in the market has become an instant hit. While two of the variants have smiling faces of the CM and PM on the back and front of the t-shirt. The third variant bears a picture of CM yogi with folded hands and Modi wearing a saffron coloured jacket.The caption on the T-shirt reads, ' Yogi aapke pass mai, Modi aapke sath mai' (CM Yogi is near you and the PM is with you)."The frequent visit of the CM and PM to Allahabad, Varanasi and in other parts of UP shows how close these two leaders are with the common man. This is the reason why I love the idea of our CM and PM's faces printed on the T-shirt. I will complete my Kanwar Yatra wearing one of the T-shirts", said Gopi, a city-based youth who has been undertaking this holy pilgrimage for the past 12 years.On being questioned on supporting Yogi and Modi, another Kanwariya said, " I voted for Mayawati in the last election, but I am impressed with the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, therefore I am wearing a T-shirt which bears his face."
