ALLAHABAD: Taking a cue from the popularity of radio in rural areas, the Allahabad division of All India Radio (AIR) will launch a special radio channel 'Kumbhvani' to broadcast various programmes for introducing visitors to the various attractions of the religious fair. Various programmes will be aired for 15-hour daily transmission. "The programme would comprise 44 episodes and each episode narrate an important chapter of Geeta. The channel would also air a programme based on the chapters od 'Geeta' and another one telling people about the contribution of people from Prayag to the Indian freedom struggle.

ALLAHABAD: Taking a cue from the popularity of radio in rural areas, the Allahabad division of All India Radio (AIR) will launch a special radio channel 'Kumbhvani' to broadcast various programmes for introducing visitors to the various attractions of the religious fair. The channel will be broadcast at 103.1 megahertz from January 10, 2019 till March 5, 2019.Assistant director (programme head) of AIR, Manjul Kishore Verma, said, "The radio station would be a dedicated one for the visitors coming to Allahabad for Kumbh Mela . Various programmes will be aired for 15-hour daily transmission."The 15-hour daily transmission would start at 5.15am and would continue till 10.15pm. "These programmes would be in tune with the religious sentiments of lakhs of devotees expected to visit Kumbh-2019," he added.Verma said that one one of the programmes would be 'Amrit Varsha' , which would feature interviews of saints coming to the Kumbh Mela. The channel would also air a programme based on the chapters od 'Geeta' and another one telling people about the contribution of people from Prayag to the Indian freedom struggle."The programme would comprise 44 episodes and each episode narrate an important chapter of Geeta.
