Fruit seller beaten to death by kin

ALLAHABAD: A fruit seller was beaten to death while his children were critically injured allegedly by his brothers and nephew over property dispute on Tuesday morning. The three children have been admitted in the hospital and their condition is said to be stable. We have formed a team to nab the culprits, Sharma said. The accused fled from the scene after the incident. Ram and Vijay had on several occasions threatened the deceased with dire consequences in case he failed to give up the claim on his share of property.As per their neighbours, the brothers used to quarrel daily, said police.

ALLAHABAD: A fruit seller was beaten to death while his children were critically injured allegedly by his brothers and nephew over property dispute on Tuesday morning. The accused fled from the scene after the incident. Police have got the children admitted to SRN Hospital The deceased, identified as Shiva Soni, used to live with his brothers Ram Singh , Vijay and their family members in a three-storey house at Ramananand Nagar.Station officer, George Town, Santosh Kumar Sharma said there was a dispute among the brothers over the ownership of the house. Ram and Vijay had on several occasions threatened the deceased with dire consequences in case he failed to give up the claim on his share of property.As per their neighbours, the brothers used to quarrel daily, said police. On Tuesday also the brothers had a fight over the issue after which they all slept.However, at around 3 pm, Vijay along with his son Om Singh and Ram entered Shiva Soni's room and attacked him with bricks and iron rod resulting in on the spot death. On hearing his shrieks, Shiva's daughter Tanu Verma (13), son Sahil (8) and five-year-old son Devraj came to stop their uncles, but they too were attacked.Tanu suffered critical injuries in her head while Sahil and Devraj were hit on hands and chest.Both the accused fled from the scene after the attack. The three children have been admitted in the hospital and their condition is said to be stable. We have formed a team to nab the culprits, Sharma said.
