Ratan Lal gets additional charge of North Central Railway GM

Speaking on human resources, Lal advised that the grassroots workers of the railways like the gangmen, trackmen, shuntmen, porters etc. ALLAHABAD: Ratan Lal , the general manger of the Central Organization for Railway Electrification (CORE), took over the additional charge of the GM of the North Central Railway (NCR) on Thursday.Lal is a 1980-batch officer of the Indian Railway Services of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE). GM/NCR is his third assignment in the capacity of GM in IR, the previous two being GM/CORE and GM Rail coach factory in Kapoorthala.In his first meeting with the officers of the NCR in the capacity of GM, Lal clearly outlined his priorities. He advised that in all the activities undertaken by the zonal railway-train operations and maintenance-due attention to safe working should always be given. Starting his career as an assistant electrical engineer in Rajkot (WR), he went on to hold important positions like ADRM Bikaner, DRM Rangia (NF Railway) and Chief Electrical Engineer Mumbai (CEE/WR).

GM/NCR is his third assignment in the capacity of GM in IR, the previous two being GM/CORE and GM Rail coach factory in Kapoorthala.In his first meeting with the officers of the NCR in the capacity of GM, Lal clearly outlined his priorities. He said that safety is the “absolute first priority”. He advised that in all the activities undertaken by the zonal railway-train operations and maintenance-due attention to safe working should always be given. He listed the punctual running of trains as his second most important priority and the development of infrastructure and timely completion of infrastructure related works as his third most important priority.Lal advised that in every case, proper identification of the problem should be done and the possible solutions to the same generated. Speaking on human resources, Lal advised that the grassroots workers of the railways like the gangmen, trackmen, shuntmen, porters etc. are the most important resource of the organization and they should be adequately cared for and their problems should be solved on priority.Speaking on the Kumbh-Mela-2019, he said that “Delivery schedules have to be adhered to and amongst the ongoing works the works relating to the Kumbh Mela have to be given priority, which must be reviewed and expedited where ever necessary.“NCR is a zonal railway with its own set of unique challenges, but we are a team and together we will tackle all the challenges that are in front of us” he added.
