North Central Railway general manager inspects kumbh related work

ALLAHABAD: General Manager, North Central Railway Ratan Lal , along with team of principal head of departments inspected Allahabad junction on Wednesday to review the progress of ongoing infrastructural works as part of preparations for ensuing Kumbh Mela 2019 . He also inspected Platform No-2/3 and saw the ongoing work of skywalk connecting two foot over bridges. He was also informed that additional special trains will be run and temporary additional stoppages will be provided to regular trains during the period, informed Malviya. He also suggested that it should be ensured that there is no crowding of passengers on platforms during the Mela period. He also suggested to prepare a day by day program and emphasized on the need for its daily review.The GM also reviewed the movement plan of station during Mela period and suggested the measures for crowd management.

He instructed to complete all the passenger facilities related works in time and suggested necessary improvements during inspection.Public Relation Officer of NCR, Amit Malviya informed that initially after reaching the station, he was briefed about the ongoing works using a map of the junction having minute details of the ongoing works and available facilities. Thereafter he inspected platform one and saw the construction site of under construction new FOB ( foot over bridge ) connecting Platform 1 to Platform 2/3, 4/6 and 11 and suggested to augment additional resources as per requirement so that the work is completed at the earliest. He also suggested to prepare a day by day program and emphasized on the need for its daily review.The GM also reviewed the movement plan of station during Mela period and suggested the measures for crowd management. He also suggested that it should be ensured that there is no crowding of passengers on platforms during the Mela period. He also inspected Platform No-2/3 and saw the ongoing work of skywalk connecting two foot over bridges. He saw the progress of construction of platform no 11 and instructed to speed up the work so that it is completed in stipulated time frame, said the PRO.General manager also inspected the enclosures which are being constructed on city side of station for accommodating direction wise passengers so that to avoid any confusion or inconvenience to them. All the Four enclosures will have unreserved ticket counters, enquiry counters, train timing display boards, public address system, catering stall and toilets.DRM, Allahabad informed the GM that additional CCTV cameras are being installed at Allahabad Junction to enhance security and additional commercial, RPF and GRP staff will be deployed during Mela period to facilitate pilgrims. He was also informed that additional special trains will be run and temporary additional stoppages will be provided to regular trains during the period, informed Malviya.
