With Durga Puja celebrations going on in full swing in Allahabad, certain Durga Puja’s in the city are attracting attention also on account of their splendid theme and décor of the pandals and the venue. The Ashok Nagar Puja Committee has the theme of the popular hill station Darjeeling. The exterior of the venue has the glimpse of the hill station displaying tea gardens and the railway station complete with a mock toy train and ropeway. According to Atanu Bhattacharya , spokesperson of Ashok Nagar Puja Committee, "We wanted to show the greenery of the hill station so that people are inspired and replicate it whatever way they can in their homes and the city. So it is a kind of a message on the environment."Bai Ka Baag (BCCL/ Pankaj Singh)Similarly the Darbhanga Colony Puja Committee has made able use of woodcraft of Nabadwip . "Despite being such a beautiful art, it is on the verge of extinction so we have in our own way, tried to draw attention to this art which we have used to decorate the path leading to the pandal and also the interiors of the pandal.
