On Diwali, 13 fire incidents reported

ALLAHABAD: As many as 13 incidents of fire were reported from different locations in the city on Diwali , which was celebrated across the country on November 7. Fire department officials said that apart from a major incident in Mutthiganj, minor incidents were reported in areas like Rajapur, Mumfordganj , Kareli, Preetam Nagar, Jhunsi and Dhoomanganj.Chief fire officer (Allahabad), RS Mishra, said, "No casualties were reported on Diwali. The first incident of fire was reported at 7:30pm on Wednesday and last was past midnight in which a tree caught fire. A man sustained minor injuries in an incident in Allahabad west locality, after fire broke out in a small shop. "Mishra said that the fire department recorded 13 incidents between 7pm and 3am on Diwali.He also said that the blaze at Mutthiganj was not a major one and was controlled with the help of a fire tender within minutes.
