Allahabad HC Chief Justice Mathur takes oath of office

ALLAHABAD: Acting Chief Justice Govind Mathur took oath of Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court on Wednesday at 9.30am in the court room of Chief Justice.The oath was administered by Governor Ram Naik , who came to Allahabad from Lucknow on Tuesday.All the sitting judges, senior as well as junior members of the Bar, senior judicial officers and family members of the Chief Justice were present in the court room.Chief Justice Mathur started his legal practice in Rajasthan High Court . He also worked as the standing counsel for University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Indian Oil Corporation , Water and Power Consultancy Services, New Delhi, National Council for Teacher's Education (NCTE) and others.Later, he became a judge of Rajasthan High Court on September 2, 2004.Subsequently, he was transferred to Allahabad High Court, where he took oath on November 21, 2017.He was appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court on October 24, 2018 after the retirement of then Chief Justice Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale.
