Now, the ruling BJP announces a Ram statue in Allahabad

LUCKNOW: Close on the heels of a grand statue of Ram in Ayodhya, the ruling BJP on Tuesday announced that would be installing a statue of Ram and Nishad Raj in Allahabad (Prayagraj), where Kumbh is due next year. ''Deputy CM Keshav Maurya reiterated that he always believed that a Ram temple will be constructed in Ayodhya. After SC postponed its hearing on the Ram Janam Bhoomi Babri Masjid issue, Yogi also candid in saying that the ``delay in justice often tantamount for injustice. Shiv Sena too has upped the ante over the Ram temple issue, with Sena chief Uddhav Thackrey expected to reach Ayodhya on November 25.CM Yogi has been categorically stating that he always believed that the disputed site is the place where Lord Ram was born. It is believed that it was at Shringverpur that Ram, who was on an exile, met Nishadraj who offered him to sail through Ganga.Maurya said that Shringverpur is known for 'Samrasta' (social harmony) and therefore the concept of installing a statue of Ram and Nishadraj was being planned.

The move is seen as yet another Hindutva Push by the saffron party in the run up 2019 Lok Sabha elections.Making the announcement on Tuesday, deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya said that a statue of Ram embracing fishermen King would be installed in Shringverpur Dham which is on the banks of Ganga. It is believed that it was at Shringverpur that Ram, who was on an exile, met Nishadraj who offered him to sail through Ganga.Maurya said that Shringverpur is known for 'Samrasta' (social harmony) and therefore the concept of installing a statue of Ram and Nishadraj was being planned. He, however, maintained that the concept was still in the planning stage and would finalized soon.The move is also seen as BJP attempt to woo Nishad, which belongs to the Most Backward Caste community, even as the saffron party gear up to take on the combined opposition, essentially comprising the SP and BSP. During the bye-elections in Gorakhpur, the home turf of UP CM Yogi Adityanath , the BJP faced a defeated after SP had fielded Pravin Nishad, an MBC.The announcement to install statue of Ram in Ayodhya and now in Allahabad comes amid growing clamour around the construction of a Grand Ram temple in Ayodhya as seers and saints gear up for a 'Dharam Sabha' in the temple town on November 25 to pressurize the ruling BJP at the centre to bring in an ordinance or a bill to pave way for construction of a Grand Ram Temple. Shiv Sena too has upped the ante over the Ram temple issue, with Sena chief Uddhav Thackrey expected to reach Ayodhya on November 25.CM Yogi has been categorically stating that he always believed that the disputed site is the place where Lord Ram was born. After SC postponed its hearing on the Ram Janam Bhoomi Babri Masjid issue, Yogi also candid in saying that the ``delay in justice often tantamount for injustice.''Deputy CM Keshav Maurya reiterated that he always believed that a Ram temple will be constructed in Ayodhya. ``Right now the issue is in the court but a Ram temple is associated with the faith of scores of Hindus,'' he said, adding that the state government would not allow any structure in the name of `Babar' to come up in Ayodhya.
