Uttar Pradesh Board to nix 12,000 students’ registration

Secretary, UPSEB, Neena Srivastava said: “The double registrations by students were detected timely.” ALLAHABAD: Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board ( UPSEB ) has decided to cancel the registration of 12,888 students from across the state after they were found to have applied from two or more centres to appear in class X and XII exams. They have also been made liable for forwarding applications of those students who had left the schools. Officials said the newly introduced software had helped in weeding out the 12,888 students.

ALLAHABAD: Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board ( UPSEB ) has decided to cancel the registration of 12,888 students from across the state after they were found to have applied from two or more centres to appear in class X and XII exams. The applicants were detected despite amendments in the forwarding policy to weed out duplicate applications and break the nexus of copying mafia and centre managers.In UP Board exams-2018, around 87,000 cases of duplicate registrations were detected after which the policy made for forwarding application form of students from schools was amended. The aim was to keep a check on copying mafia from the start of registration process for the exams.As part of the policy, UPSEB has also decided to go tough on principals forwarding more online application forms under private category then the specified limit laid down in the forwarding policy. They have also been made liable for forwarding applications of those students who had left the schools. Officials said the newly introduced software had helped in weeding out the 12,888 students.
