No use of heaters, blowers in Kumbh

Executive engineer of Purvanchal Power Distribution Corporation Limited, Manoj Gupta, said, “The power department would conduct regular checking drives to seize blowers and heaters being used in the camps.”Gupta said the saints attending Kumbh would be requested to convince their devotees to not use heaters and blowers at the Mela ground. ALLAHABAD: The district power department will make 2.8 lakh electricity connections available to organisations and kalpwasis setting up camps at the Mela ground during Kumbh Devotees found using heaters for cooking and blowers for warming themselves would face punitive action, be blacklisted and not allowed to attend next fair. The decision has been taken after many incidents of fire were reported in camps during last year’s Magh Mela.The short circuit caused by use of heaters and blowers for cooking and warming triggered most of fire incidents.
