ALLAHABAD: Samjawadi Party spokesperson Richa Singh has written to the Union home minister Rajnath Singh alleging that her phone is being tapped by Allahabad police without her knowledge which is violation of Article 20 and 21 of the Indian Constitution.In her letter, Richa, who is presently pursuing her PhD from Allahabad University and was the first women president of the AU student union, has written that on December 16, when she went to Colonelganj police station to meet her party workers, she was told by the Station Officer (SO) of Colonelganj police station that all of her calls were being recorded.“The officer not only informed me that he has all the recordings of my phone calls but he infact played some of it in the presence of my fellow party workers”, said Richa, who had contested the last assembly polls from Allahabad West constituency on SP ticket.In her letter, which was also addressed to DGP, UP and SSP Allahabad, Richa has further stated, "neither I am a criminal nor I have any criminal background, yet the police not only tapped my phone but the police officer threatened me that he has my recordings, a fact which has caused me great mental stress.
