Model code violation: Union minister Krishna Raj surrenders, gets bail

The special court has been set up to try elected public representatives facing criminal cases. Since no permission was taken from the authorities to hold the gathering, a case was registered against her.Later, after setting up of special court (MP and MLA) at Allahabad district court, the case was shifted here. In the case, it was stated that more than 150 supporters of Raj had assembled at her office, carrying sticker and flags, which had the photo of a tiger. ALLAHABAD: Union minister Krishna Raj on Tuesday surrendered before the special court (MP and MLA) and remained in judicial custody for four hours in connection with a case registered against her in 2014 on charges of violating the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections.Special judge Pawan Kumar Tiwari accepted her bail application and ordered her release.A case was registered against Raj, the then BJP candidate from Shahjahapur Lok Sabha seat, at Nigohin police station on April 2, 2014, alleging she had violated the model code of conduct.
