ALLAHABAD: Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and his MLA son Abdullah surrendered before the special court (MP and MLA) here on Thursday in connection with a case registered against them at Moradabad in 2008.Accepting their surrender applications,the court took them into judicial custody, which continued for four hours.
Therefore, this case was registered against them alleging stopping police from exercising its duties.
After investigation, the police submitted chargesheet against them.
Subsequently, special judge Pawan Kumar Tiwari , who presided over the special court (MP and MLA), accepted their bail applications and directed them to be released on bail.Earlier, the special court (MP and MLA) had on January 5 issued non-bailable warrant against Azam, his son Abdullah, who is also an MLA, and three others.In a case registered at Thana Chhazlait of Moradabad district on January 2, 2008, it was alleged that when police stopped a car having black film, Azam Khan, his son Abdullah and others created ruckus and sat on dharma at road.
