ALLAHABAD: Union minister of state for railways Manoj Sinha said that a new Shatabdi train would be launched between Allahabad and Lucknow once the doubling of tracks on Allahabad-Phaphamau route is completed.Sinha inaugurated the newly-developed Subedarganj railway station in Allahabad on Saturday. He also announced that the last unmanned crossing on broad gauge, at Khairahi on Chopan-Chunar section of North Central Railway (NCR), has been eliminated.There are no more unmanned crossings on the broad gauge network in the country, said officials. Sinha said that the work of doubling rail tracks between Allahabad (under NCR) and Phaphamau (under Northern Railway) was in final stage and would be completed by March-end.Talking to reporters, Sinha said that the work of doubling rail tracks between Allahabad (under NCR) and Phaphamau (under Northern Railway) was in final stage and would be completed by March-end.“Mujhe apna wada yaad hai, maine target March ka diya tha, aur abhi Kumbh chalne wala hai March tak, hum apna wada nibhayenge (I remember my promise of completion of the track doubling by March-end. Kumbh will continue till March. I will fulfill the promise),” said Sinha. On being asked about the incomplete construction of rail over bridge (ROB) at Bhagwatpur near Bamrauli, he said, “We are in talks with the Indian Air Force and will soon find an amicable solution for it.”The construction of ROB was halted after the IAF objected to its height. IAF officials said that the ROB would hinder the landing of aircraft at its Bamrauli Airport airfield.
