Allahabad: The Allahabad high court on Wednesday dismissed a PIL challenging shifting of UP Police headquarters (PHQ) from Allahabad to Gomtinagar in Lucknow.Dismissing a PIL filed by an advocate, Devendra Vikram Singh, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice CD Singh said that shifting of head office of state police is a policy decision of the state government, therefore, the court cannot interfere in the matter.In the PIL, the petitioner had challenged the decision (dated December 7, 2018) of shifting PHQ, saying that it was a glory of Allahabad.
