Allahabad: Six devotees from Madhya Pradesh sustained serious injuries after the SUV carrying them rammed a stationed truck near Ghurpur Bazar road under the Ghurpur police station early Thursday morning. The incident reportedly took place when devotees were coming to Allahabad from Anup Nagar (Madhya Pradesh) to visit Sangam. The FIR has been registered under charges of theft and lurking house trespass. "The hunt for the miscreants is on," he added. All injured persons were admitted to SRN hospital for treatment.Inspector (Ghurpur) said: “The incident was a fallout of driver’s carelessness and as a result, the SUV rammed a stationed truck on roadside corner.” He added: “Injured Rajkumari told police that driver of the SUV was a little sleepy when the incident occurred.” The condition of the injured was stated to be stable.Meanwhile, burglars broke out into a jewellrey shop and made away with jewelry worth Rs 5 lakh under Krishnagar police station in Lucknow on Thursday.The incident came to light around 9am when the complainant and shop owner Ram Verma, a resident of Alambagh, was informed that the shutter of his shop is open.Thereafter, he rushed to his shop on Hastinapur trisection in Aazadnagar and was shocked to see jewelry missing.SHO Krishnanagar Yash Kant Singh said that burglars made away with jewelery worth Rs 5 lakh and also stolen CCTV camera.
