Before starting the yatra, prominent saints, seers, and mahamandleshwars performed the Ganga pujan and aarti.The panchkosi parikrma would conclude on Saturday. Allahabad: Amid chanting of mantras and shlokas, the three-day ‘Panchkosi parikrama’ began on the banks of the Sangam here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, saints said: “All deities stay at Prayag during the pious month of Magh and further called upon devotees and pilgrims to be part of the parikrama to seek salvation.”On the first day, saints, seers and priests after performing Ganga pujan and aarti, visited Akshayvat, Saraswati Koop, Bankhandi Mahadeo, Takshakteerth to Maujgiri baba ghat and Maujgiri temple. After performing puja, the saints and seers further went to Shool Tankeshwar temple, Chakra Madhav, Gada Madhav, Pranras rishi ashram, and Someshwar Mahadeo temple.The saints and seers after crossing VIP pontoon bridge also visited Shankh Madhav and arrived Shri Panchdasnaam Juna Akhara.Those who attended the puja and aarti included president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad Narendra Giri, Acharya Mahamandleshwar Junapeethadhishwar Shri Awadheshanand Giri, general secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara parishad Hari Giri and others.
