Relishing tea in clay mugs, Ghai walked into a painting exhibition that was organized in the camp that had different facets of Kumbh as the theme.Ghai and his wife Mukta performed aahuti and puja at the Kumbh mela (BCCL/ Pankaj Singh)Later he went to the yagyashala along with Swami Chidanand Saraswati and gave an aahuti amidst chanting of the shlokas.Participating in the Ganga arti, the ' Ram Lakhan ' director said, "While researching for a documentary on Kumbh I got to know that certain planetary configuration ensures that the rivers are infused with positive energy that remains for 52-55 days during this period. A dip in the river removes the negative energy, which we perhaps equate with washing away of sins," he said. "Kumbh is the biggest example of our cultural heritage and it has been recognized by UNESCO and has been included in Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and thus coming here became mandatory for me," he added.Subhash Ghai went around the art exhibition put up at the Parmarth Niketan ashram (BCCL/ Pankaj Singh)During his nearly three-day stay, the veteran director also went for darshan of the Akshay vat tree and Saraswati koop. He also enjoyed a boat ride from Arail to Sangam and visited the akharas as well.
