Over 60L pilgrims to take holy dip in Sangam on last snan of Kumbh

Allahabad: More than 60 lakh devotees and pilgrims are expected to take a holy dip in the Sangam on the sixth and the last snan of Kumbh Mela on Monday. He further added “ we don’t want to miss a chance for taking dip during Kumbh and started our journey on Sunday of because of being holiday”.Banda resident Ravi Kumar said “ As Mahashivaratri being the last day of Kumbh 2019, I along with my family arrived to take holy dip’.He, however, said “ apart from holy dip, we would also be offering prayers to lordShiva temple.” Devotees from far off places have thronged Mela campus for the Mahashivaratri snan on Monday.The Mela campus has been turned into a fortress as additional mobile police pickets have been roped in for traffic and crowd management for the last day of Kumbh-2019.Apart from security measures, barricading of streets leading to Mela campus, and traffic diversions for heavy vehicles was implemented. Police have roped in additional traffic and police forces on 12 main spots including Alopibagh, Daraganj, Old GT Road, Sohbatiyabagh, Civil Lines, Leader Road, CMP Dott Bridge Road, Jhunsi, Naini to streamline traffic.SSP (Kumbh) KP Singh, said, “As Mahashivaratri is the sixth and last snan, Mela police have deployed more mobile police teams at the entry and exit routes of the ground. He added “Mela police expect a huge rush as apart from pilgrims taking a snan, many devotees would also be marching towards prominent lord Shiva temples to offer prayers on the day.”Singh added “As the Mela has now been limited up to a total of nine sectors including sector 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,7, 17,18, and 19 police have focused on crowd management on four prominent lord Shiva temples including Mankameshwar, Someshwarnath, Naagbasuki and Gangeshwar Dham which are located on the border areas of mela campus.The police in a bid to make devotee’s journey hassle free towards Sangam area – the police have also set up additional parking slots on sector no 16 and 17.Kanpur resident PK Pandey said “ I along with my family members and neighbours have arrive for holy dip on the eve of Mahashivratri”.
