Shivaratri snan: E-rickshaws, autos banned on major roads till March 5

The entry of passengers to railway junction from Civil Lines side would be closed on Sunday and Monday. People have to walk an extra mile as traffic department has banned operation of auto-rickshaw and e-rickshaw from March 3 to 5. They have to park vehicles at GIC Inter College, CMP Dgree College and CAV College. Auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws operation have been banned in selected areas and Civil Lines, Chowk and Hewett Road markets would be closed to facilitate pilgrims.Citizens have been advised not to ply four-wheelers and use two-wheelers only in emergency.

Auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws operation have been banned in selected areas and Civil Lines, Chowk and Hewett Road markets would be closed to facilitate pilgrims.Citizens have been advised not to ply four-wheelers and use two-wheelers only in emergency. The entry of passengers to railway junction from Civil Lines side would be closed on Sunday and Monday. The pilgrims and others would be allowed to enter and exit only through from the city side via Leader Road, Khuldabad area or Lukerganj during the same period. People have to walk an extra mile as traffic department has banned operation of auto-rickshaw and e-rickshaw from March 3 to 5. On Mahashivaratri, citizens would not be allowed to take their four wheelers beyond CMP railway overbridge. They have to park vehicles at GIC Inter College, CMP Dgree College and CAV College. Similarly, the markets of Civil Lines, Chowk and Hewett Road would be closed on Mahashivaratri to ensure free movement of pilgrims.Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Kuldeep Singh said, Citizens have been advised not to use four wheelers to ply from March 3 to 5 owing to heavy rush of pilgrims on the last of the Kumbh Mela. Those having two-wheelers should take it out in emergency only on February 4. Barring the four wheelers with essential eatables, heavy or commercial vehicles would be banned from entering the city limits from Friday 5 am to Tuesday 11 pm. He said, “The roadways and private buses carrying passengers will be stopped at city-outskirts in Bela Kachar, Nehru Park, Leprosy Mission Workshop and at temporary depot at Jhunsi. The vehicles plying from Lucknow and Pratapgarh would be diverted to Kanpur Road to their destinations.”
