Alliance partners SP-BSP to hold informal cadre meets

A meeting of office-bearers and workers of both the parties will be held in Allahabad on March 11 while that in neighbouring districts of Pratapgarh and Kaushambi were held on Sunday.

Office-bearers from both the parties believe that the initiative will help in joint campaigning during polls.BSP district president RK Gautam said, “As per party’s direction, the meet should be informal and aimed at introducing office-bearers from district to booth level.”“The move will help us in removing confusion about the alliance among the workers at the ground level and cooperate at various levels during campaigning.”SP spokesperson Daan Bahadur Singh ‘Madhur’ said BSP has invited us to spend some time together to build companionship during campaigning in Phulpur and Allahabad parliamentary constituencies.“Phulpur parliamentary by-election was a glaring example of solidarity between SP-BSP workers, which we won by defeating BJP candidate in 2018.
Allahabad: After cementing a seat-sharing deal for the coming Lok Sabha polls, BSP and SP have decided to hold ‘charcha’ (discussion) at informal get-together of office-bearers from the district and city wings to remove doubts and confusion among lower ranks and chalk out a strategy for joint future programmes.The cadre have been asked to ensure presence of flags of both the parties at these meetings and give equal space to the workers to send a message of unity of the alliance to the public during joint programmes.Bahujan Samaj Party office-bearers claimed the move aims at keeping a tab on ‘saffron spread’ in coming Lok Sabha elections.The two parties had had shown similar solidarity to stop BJP’s rise during Ram temple movement in 1993, they further claimed.
