Only this time it is not the ‘last’ but the ‘first’ in the country.Authorities have installed a state of the art HPDS ( Hanging Part Detection System ) at Chunar railway station yard of Chunar section.
ALLAHABAD: After creating history by manning the last unmanned crossing of the country at Khairahi village under Chunar Chopan section , Allahabad division of North Central Railway (NCR) has again made history.
On March 18, the system had send the alerts although later it was found that the hanging part was plastic bottle, he added. The alerts are send to number of persons through SMS and buzzing the computer system .
“It is equipped with white LED light for night recording”, he said.
“After receiving the SMS, the authorities can check the report for any unusual reading as the report, generated by the system, also include the temperature of the wheel and axel (as it is integrated with existing hot box detector), speed of the train, number of wagons etc”, said Gupta. Moreover, the HPDS collects images from the camera, performs imaging analysis and sets a continuous communication with controller of hot box detection system.“The system is capable of automatic detection of approaching train, automatic switching-on of relevant sensors or camera, automatic recoding and measurement while the train is in motion, automatic transmission of data, alarms and reports and automatic switching off of relevant sensors to conserve electrical power”, said Gupta. The system automatically detect train and initiates the video recording and has capability for integration with RFID (Radio-frequency identification) in future.
