Uttar Pradesh textbooks to have chapter on Covid-19

PRAYAGRAJ: Students enrolled in around 1.59 lakh government-run primary and upper primary schools of Uttar Pradesh would soon get to study a revamped syllabus incorporating content on Covid-19, Vedic Mathematics and Namami Gange scheme. As per changes approved by the Basic Education Council at a recent virtual meeting chaired by director (basic education) Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh, students of classes VI to VIII would now be learning threadbare about Covid-19, which would be included in their science syllabus.

PRAYAGRAJ: Students enrolled in around 1.59 lakh government-run primary and upper primary schools of Uttar Pradesh would soon get to study a revamped syllabus incorporating content on Covid-19, Vedic Mathematics and Namami Gange scheme. As per changes approved by the Basic Education Council at a recent virtual meeting chaired by director (basic education) Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh, students of classes VI to VIII would now be learning threadbare about Covid-19, which would be included in their science syllabus.

Besides, Vedic mathematics has been included in the course for students of classes IV and V, and Namami Gange for those of classes VI to VIII. In addition to this, children studying in classes I and II in 1,13,289 government-run primary schools across the state would be taught Sanskrit.
