ALLAHABAD: Amid talks of Congress-Samajwadi Party (SP) alliance for UP assembly polls, Gandhi scion Priyanka Vadra and SP leader Dimple Yadav have come together, at least on a poster.District Congress committee general secretary Haseeb Ahmad, who is known for displaying political posters in Allahabad, has uploaded a new one on his Twitter and Facebook accounts in which Priyanka and the Kannauj MP are seen together. The poster reads "Desh Virodhi Taqato Ko UP Mein Rokne Ke Liye, Hum Ek Hain - Didi Swagat Hai (To stop the entry of the communal forces in UP, we are united. Both Priyanka and Dimple are welcome)."The poster has photographs of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka, Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari, UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav.Talking to TOI, Haseeb said, "Through the poster, I have appealed to the secular forces to come together to check communal forces trying to grab power in UP." He further claimed, "It's a better opportunity for the Congress to make alliance with Akhilesh Yadav's SP and regain the old glory.""Congress leadership must think over the alliance with Akhilesh Yadav positively as it could yield better opportunities and result in forthcoming polls. If the Congress goes it alone, there are chances of getting a majority and if alliances take place, the Congress and the SP jointly could do wonders," Haseeb further added.UPCC general secretary Mukund Tiwari said, "Whatever Congress high command decides, it would be acceptable to all leaders and workers and all of us would be working hard for the success of the party."However, taking a jibe at a possible alliance between the Congress and the SP, a senior BJP leader preferring anonymity said, "The Congress is not able to contest election on its own and for that it has been looking for options to survive in UP polls ." He, however, added, "People of the state are well aware of the misrule and corruption of the Akhilesh Yadav-led state government. People are going to teach a strict lesson to both of them in coming days."
