7 caught cheating on last day of UP Board exam

ALLAHABAD: The high school and intermediate exams of Asia's biggest board , UP Secondary Education Board (UP Board) ended on Friday. The class 10 exams had concluded on April 1 while class 12 exams finished with Urdu exams on Friday. On the last day, only seven students were caught across the state for cheating.UP board deputy secretary Anil Kumar said the evalution process would start from April 27. This year, 34,04,715 students were registered online for the class 10 exams. The board has refuted all instances of paper leak stating that in all the cases the papers were 'leaked' during the exams and as per norms this does not come under the definition of 'paper leak'.

The class 10 exams had concluded on April 1 while class 12 exams finished with Urdu exams on Friday. As many as 2,153 copycats were caught while 5,94,503 dropped out. On the last day, only seven students were caught across the state for cheating.UP board deputy secretary Anil Kumar said the evalution process would start from April 27. The answer sheets would be evaluated at 254 centres. The mammoth exercise of evaluting over a 60 lakh copies would be completed in 15 days. At least 1.30 lakh teachers have been appointed as evaluators by the board.This year, there were rampant cases of mass copying and allegations of over a dozen cases of paper leak through WhatsApp. The board has refuted all instances of paper leak stating that in all the cases the papers were 'leaked' during the exams and as per norms this does not come under the definition of 'paper leak'. To counter mass copying, the board had also come out with a toll free number for students as well as invigilators.Exams began on March 16 after they were postponed due to polls. This year, 34,04,715 students were registered online for the class 10 exams. Similarly, 26,56,319 examinees were registered for class 12 exams.
