ALLAHABAD: Tension prevailed in Dilerganj and adjoining areas under Kunda police station of Pratapgarh district on Tuesday morning after a youth allegedly shot at a domestic cow and left her critically wounded.Senior police officials and forces of two nearby police stations rushed to the spot to take stock of situation. The police have launched a manhunt for accused Aslam, a resident of Dilerganj who managed to escape from the village after the incident. Station house officer of Kunda told TOI, "The injured cow was taken to Kunda vateniery hospital for treatment." He further added that a police team has been looking for the accused, identified as Aslam.Police, however, maintained that the incident took place at around 9:30 am when the cow belonging to one Mohd Suleman had entered the fields of Aslam for grazing. As both Aslam and Suleman were at loggerheads following a land dispute, Aslram could not tolerate it and opened fire on the domestic cow from 0.315 bore country-made pistol. The pallets of country-made pistol wounded area around the the neck the cow.Police further added Chandini, daughter of Mohd Sultan who had taken the cow for grazing, immediately informed her father and hearing this, scores of people assembled at the site of incident.Meanwhile, volunteers of Hindu frontal organisations have too demanded the arrest of the accused at the earliest.
