Student held for killing retired teacher in Allahabad

ALLAHABAD: City police, on Sunday, arrested a B.Tech aspirant identified as Mukesh Kumar Pasi , a resident of Damodarpur (Mauaima) who along with his accomplice had allegedly stabbed a retired teacher to death near Abdalpur road under Soraon police station on September 6.The arrest was made near Dhamapur tuti pulia road when he had made a futile attempt to escape. The police have also recovered a sharp edge knife, Rs 10,500 cash and a 0.315 bore country made pistols from his possession.SSP, Allahabad, Anand Kulkarni told TOI, "Mukesh, who is preparing for B. Tech entrance after hiring a rented accommodation at Shantipuram (Phaphamau) , had on Saturday night also looted Rs 22,000 cash from a local trader after injuring him.SSP further maintained "acting upon a specific tip off, a joint team of Soraon and Crime branch had cordoned the Dhamapur road and managed to nab one of the accused while his accomplice identified as Narendra Pasi , a resident of Dhamapur managed to give a slip to police party."Accused Mukesh, meanwhile, confessed before police that he and his accomplice had killed the retired teacher when he resisted. He also admitted that they had purchased a knife from Phaphamau market for their protection.Mukesh told the police that, "after securing 72 percent in Intermediate UP board exam last year, he had decided to prepare for engineering and then took a rented accommodation at Shantipuram to prepare for entrance exams for prestigious institutes". He further added, "while preparing for exams, I came in contact with Narendra Pasi, who was also preparing for SSC entrance and became fast friends"."As the duo have no criminal background, they later had a bad accompany with some local miscreants and jumped into the world of crime", said the SSP adding "Mukesh and his friends in a bid to earn fast bucks, had committed their first crime on June 25 when they looted a bike from a person near Alipur road on Allahabad-Varanasi highway under Tharwai police station"."The miscreants had in fact used the same bike in committing the next two crimes after changing its registration number", claimed the police."Mukesh had also secured 70 percent marks in High school", said police.
