ALLAHABAD: Seeking to crack whip against miscreants who harass fairer sex, city police is collecting feedback from schoolgoing girls to identify areas where most eve-teasing incidents take place in the district.The police have distributed around 10,000 secret feedback forms among 150 girl schools of the district to identify spots across the district that are vulnerable to eve-teasing. SSP (Allahabad) Anand Kulkarni told TOI, "Police has distributed feedback forms among girls to compile vulnerable points and now personnel of Anti Romeo squad would be deputed accordingly". He further added, "Cops would be compiling a data base after receiving cent percent feedback and taking stringent action accordingly".Around 65% girls have apprised police about such stretches wherein girls are regularly stalked or harassed. With the feedback, the police have been able to draw a map, identifying localities or villages where eve-teasing incidents are frequent.The females also complained of miscreants clicking their photographs secretly. With the girls' help, police have able to shortlist 30 vulnerable points in Allahabad city alone.A class XII student of a city based prestigious girls school said, "Police must take action against eve teaser on spot so that he could never dare to pass lewd remarks on school girls or chase them".Meanwhile, girl students have candidly spoke police officials about names and addresses of local road romeo including those who often chase them from school to home or home to schools on their bikes.Girls also interacted with police officials and shared their experiences being faced by them while traveling in public transport.SSP, however, assured the girl students that the harassment points identified by them would be better patrolled during school assembly and dismissal time. Besides, the road romeos would be booked under appropriate sections.He also assured that both male and female policemen in plain cloths would be deployed at vulnerable points. Officials also assure to follow up complaints at higher levels and more interaction between police officials and girl students would be held on frequent intervals.
