Police rescue kidnapped minor child, abductor injured in encounter

They had kept the kidnapped boy at the house of Pushpraj whole night and took him to Bargard forest on Friday.The kidnappers had finally taken the boy to Sigati hilly region and when some shepherd became suspicious over their activities, had informed local police.The police later swung into action and rescued the child after ensuring the arrest of two kidnappers on Saturday. ALLAHABAD: A criminal sustained gun shot injuries in a police encounter here at Parade ground, Iradatganj in Ghoorpur on Sunday.The injured criminal identified as Amit Kushwaha who suffered gunshot injuries with his leg during the encounter and a resident of Gohaniya, was admitted at SRN hospital for treatment.The police team have also arrested three more criminals identified as Rajesh Patel, Manoj Sahu and Ankit Kushwaha, all residents of Ghoorpur during the encounter. Police claimed that all these four criminals were involved in the kidnapping of an eight years old boy from Gohaniya area and seeking Rs 20 lakh ransom for release of child.The police team have also recovered a van (used in the kidnapping) and weapons from them.SP (Trans Yamuna) D K Chaudhary told TOI, "After rescuing the minor boy from the clutches of kidnappers and ensuring the arrest of two kidnappers identified as Pushpraj Kushwaha and Panchraj Kol on Saturday night, the police on Sunday afternoon got a specific tip off that four more criminals who were also wanted in minor boy kidnapping case, were roaming near Iradatganj area with an intention of crime.SP added, "Acting upon the specific inputs, a police team cordoned the area and exchanged fire with criminals and resulted the injuries of one criminal and managed to arrest three others".SP added that a total of six criminals had kidnapped the minor boy from Gohaniya area and sought Rs 20 lakh ransom from the father of the victim.Police, meanwhile, said that two of the kidnappers - Amit Kushwaha and Ankit Kushwaha - had kidnapped the minor on Thursday and had taken him to Kariya Kala village in Shankargarh area.
