Three arrested for vehicle thefts

Meanwhile, the Jhander police arrested Satpal Masih of Teda Kalan, a junk dealer, for stealing bikes and dismantling these to sell spare parts. The investigating officer said further investigation was under progress as the accused had been brought on police remand for interrogation. Jasbir Singh, investigating officer, said, “Masih had been stealing vehicles and sell the spare parts.

Amritsar, February 19 Three persons have been arrested in separate cases for stealing vehicles. In the first case, the Beas police nabbed Jagroop Singh and Manpreet Singh of Jalalabad in Tarn Taran for vehicle thefts. Agyapal Singh, investigating officer, said he along with a police party was at Pheruman road when he received a tip-off that the two were travelling on a bike (PB-08-P-2851). The accused had been stealing vehicles for long. The bike they were riding had a tampered number plate. The police intercepted the two at Rayya. They could not produce any document of the motorcycle nor did they give satisfactory answers. The investigating officer said further investigation was under progress as the accused had been brought on police remand for interrogation. A case under Sections 379, 411, 420, 473, 482 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against them. Meanwhile, the Jhander police arrested Satpal Masih of Teda Kalan, a junk dealer, for stealing bikes and dismantling these to sell spare parts. A case under Sections 379, 411 and 201 of the IPC has been registered against him. Jasbir Singh, investigating officer, said, “Masih had been stealing vehicles and sell the spare parts. Following a tip off, the police raided his shop and recovered parts of dismantled bikes.”
