SNIPPETS Tarn Taran: A domestic servant has been booked for theft in Bhikhiwind. The accused has been identified as Harjit Singh of Narli village. Complainant Jasbir Singh alleged that Harjit Singh stole Rs 10,000 and gold ornaments worth 10 gm when he was out for some work. A case has been registered under Section 381 of the IPC by the Bhikhiwind police. Liquor seized, 4 held Tarn Taran: The police conducted raids at different places and arrested four persons for possessing a huge quantity of illicit liquor. The Sadar police arrested Ram Singh of Kallha village and seized 1,280 ml of illicit liquor, 15 kg of lahan besides apparatus. Harbans Sijghj of Kaler village was arrested for possessing 11,250 ml of Illicit liquor. The police also arrested Parkash Singh of Rataul village with 6,970 ml of Illicit liquor. Meanwhile, the Chohla Sahib police arrested Pargat Singh of Johal Dhai Wala with 180 kg of lahan. The accused have been booked under Sections 61, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act. Camp for pension beneficiaries Amritsar: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, officials of the Social Welfare Department heard the grievances of pension beneficiaries at a camp at Ghanupur village. As many as 125 beneficiaries of old age pension, handicap pension and widow pension submitted their forms to revive their pensions, which was halted earlier. The DC asked the employees for redressal of all the problems of pension beneficiaries.
