The police have booked the driver of the bus, identified as Gursharan Singh of Dhariwal Kalan village. The father of the victim said his daughter worked at a saloon in Bhikhiwind. On March 9, she went to the saloon but never returned. He said one of the accused connived with others to take her away on the pretext of marriage. ASI Balbir Singh, investigating officer (IO), said the police had initiated further investigation in the matter. OC Man robbed of cash Five men robbed Baldev Singh of Ekal Gadda village on Tarn Taran-Khadur Sahib road in broad daylight on Wednesday. Baldev said he was returning to his village on his moped when the robbers stopped him near Bath village and took his mobile phone and a purse contanining Rs 1,400 besides injuring him with sharp weapons. A case under Section 379-B (2) has been registered against him. He was being taken to a hospital when he died on the way. The Kathunangal police have registered a case.
