Land grab: Naib tehsildar among 10 booked

FEROZEPUR: Police have booked 10 persons, including a naib tehsildar nambardar and stamp vendor, for allegedly usurping eight acres of land in Ferozepur town by forging revenue documents.In his statement to the police, Inder Mohan, a resident of Ferozepur, had accused influential persons and revenue officials of grabbing a piece of land measuring 64.5 kanals (32,250 sq yards) belonging to his brother Manmohan Nath.He had earlier filed a complaint with the deputy commissioner in the matter, following which the police complaint was filed.Inder Mohan claimed that his brother Manmohan, who was mentally ill, had been missing for some time.Assistant sub-inspector Satnam Singh, who is the investigating officer in the case, said the Ferozepur DC had directed the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) to the probe the matter.
